Vip Executive Azores Hotel - Ponta Delgada (Sao Miguel)

Free covered parking. It's a big hotel. Its heated indoor pool and gymnasium are very good. Well connected with access very close to the "motorway". It has next to it a shopping center with a very big supermarket. It has a hairdresser and sale of excursions inside the Hotel. Of the food I cannot say anything, since I did not use (there is restaurant and bar). The room they gave us had a terrace with two chairs and a small table. I recommend the rooms overlooking the roundabout (sea view) trying not to charge the supplement that appears in the general rate for this concept. In principle, it is RECOMMENDED if the rate is around 60-80 euros. Free WIFI that worked well for us.

For those who don't have a car, it's a mile from downtown Ponta delgada. The rooms (without being small) are a bit too big for four stars, as the furniture is a bit simple (but enough). It needs some renovation, as the carpets are already a bit "worn out".

The location is well suited for driving (free covered parking), although there is generally space for parking in the vicinity. It is 1.5 km from the centre of Ponta Delgada, but by car there is a free car park which allows you to drive almost to the central area of Ponta Delgada. It is a hotel that will be about 15 years or so, quite large, with an excellent gym and indoor pool. It also has a small outdoor swimming pool on the upper terrace (with a bar) as well as a restaurant and bar on the ground floor. In the surrounding area there is a shopping centre with a HUGE supermarket and some restaurants. The hotel itself has a hairdresser and an agency for excursions on the Azorean island(s). In general I would recommend it with the above mentioned exceptions. The treatment of the staff was professional and they helped us to solve any problem that arose. It is very well connected as it has a junction with the "autovia" right there. The island is quite long so we took 5 days in this hotel and another two in Furnas, to allow us to comfortably see the east of the island.

Overall the hotel is fine, although it needs some light upgrades (the carpet is scuffed)

Request an ocean view room for a better perspective. The standard rooms can overlook less appealing areas.

Good hotel at an excellent price however too far from city to walk. They allowed us to book in early which was an appreciated bonus after an all night flight.

The hotel suited us because of ease of parking a hire car at the hotel. However the cost is 5 Euros a day which for a couple of days makes life easy. They should consider guests parking free. Most people parked in the street at the back of the hotel. However that means hauling luggage a further distance.

The room was ready even before check in hours, breakfast provide wide rande of products, nice bathroom and very good beds.

The pool should be renovated, as well as painting in th room. The room was a bit dark even if we had the suite on the top floor.

Everything was fine - brand-new rooms and enjoyable breakfasts. The staff was really efficient and delivered excellent service. Location: the hotel was so close to a roundabout, sea and mountains and downtown. Lucky that it was just a short walk away from Lanchonete da Cidade, offering food to go.

Yes the matresses could been a litle softner it was realy I feelt like sleeping on top of a rock, to far from city?

Great for exploring the island.

We didn't get to stay long, just one night. The hotel staff was very accomodating and got us a room with a queen size bed after arriving to a room with separate beds. Great view from the restaurant.

I enjoyed my stay while exploring the city. The staff was very welcoming, and the cleaning service was attentive. I appreciated the convenient location that allowed for easy access to various attractions and dining options. On the downside, the breakfast was pretty basic, and I found the dinner at the hotel restaurant a bit overpriced considering the quality. Nonetheless, it’s a good choice for those looking to explore without breaking the bank.
